YOU HAVE TO BE HONEST WITH YOUR OBJECT TO MAKE SURE THAT YOU DO NOT DESTROY IT WITH YOUR SUBJECTIVITY, AND YET REMAIN INVOLVED AT THE SAME TIME Hilla Becher |

Being environment oriented means wide scale of different things. Nature comes first in mind with the term and is important for sure. I must say that as a photographer I'm not very much of wild-life shooter going after pics of rare birds - there a many photographers more merited in that genre. Larger scale issue that is getting huge importance is climate change. This is global question that affects our life everywhere - and our ways of living affect climate everywhere. Photographically it's about visualizing ways of lives, questioning which are ways we should live to have a good world to live in. World which can with a clear conscience be given forward for next generations. Environment means also bigger and smaller everyday things. Architecture, urban planning, design - and how these are layered. This is environment that we make ourself and this component affects our life maybe even more straightforward ways than the previous ones. See also:
